Tuition fees and policy:
The tuition fee for the entire school year (with the exception of mini sessions and Triple Threat) is divided into 10 equal monthly instalments from September to June. As a result, the monthly instalment amount does not change with the number of classes/lessons in a month.
Payments for ALL Intervals Music Studio programs are processed between the 1st and the 4th of the month, with exception for September 7th. They are processed through our office using the credit card information provided during registration. Intervals Music Studio does not accept monthly cash payments or personal cheques. E-transfers can be arranged through the office but must be prepaid for September-December, January-March and March –June.
Program Specific Information to the above policy:
~MINI SESSIONS: Families enrolling in Kindermusik mini sessions will be billed a one-time fee for the materials and tuition COMBINED. All fees will be within a week before the session starts.
~TRIPLE THREAT TROOP: The tuition fee for the entire term is divided over the number of months of the term. Term 1 – September to December. Term 2 – January to June. Tuition includes classes and music. Costumes, if required, and performance fees are a separate cost.
~KINDERMUSIK: Kindermusik level specific resources--activities, online books and streamed music--are included in the cost while you are actively enrolled in a class.
~PLAY A STORY PIANO: Book/home materials fees are a separate cost.
~PRIVATE LESSONS: The cost of music and theory books are your responsibility unless otherwise stated by the teacher.
~CAMPS: A non-refundable registration fee will be billed to your account to hold your space in camp. The remaining balance will be due mid-June. The non-refundable deposit and remaining balance will be processed through the office using the credit card you provided during registration. There are no refunds on the remaining balance past 3 week prior to camp.
KINDERMUSIK--policy exclusive to this program: While our programming runs from September to June (35 weeks in total), we realize that families are not always able to stay for the duration of the school year due to maternity leave, changing schedules, moving, etc. Should you need to withdraw at any time, please notify our office, via email (office.intervalsmusicstudio@gmail.com), before the end of the month. Without giving the proper notice you will be billed the following month. Please note: No drops will be accepted after May 15th for the school year.
Our studio does not "pause" enrolments or hold spaces. Once you withdraw from a class, we can no longer hold or guarantee that space for you, but we would be happy to have you re-enrol in another class that has available space. Withdrawing from class also forfeits any past absence/make-up opportunities.
PRIVATE LESSONS, BEGINNER VOICE: We know that learning an instrument takes time and it builds resilience! We are committed to helping our students grow. Our expectation is that once a student signs up for a slot, that they will remain and be committed for the school year. Challenges are a normal part of the learning process and we are also committed to helping students and families navigate them so that they can have long term success.
PLAY A STORY: Due to the cumulative nature of this beginner piano class, our recommendation is for parents to ONLY register their child in this class if they can commit to the full year.
TRIPLE THREAT TROOP: Registration for this class is in two separate terms: September- December and January- June. Due to the team nature of this class and the commitment required for performances, registration and tuition fees are a commitment for each term your child is enrolled in.
By electronically checking the box on this document, I realize that photos or video may be taken in class for the use of educational and promotional purposes. I understand that it is MY RESPONSIBILITY to inform Intervals Music Studio, in writing at office.intervalsmusicstudio@gmail.com, of my preference NOT to have our photos/videos shared on social media. Intervals will respect the wishes of our families.
INCLEMENT WEATHER
Classes and Lessons missed due to power outages, snowstorms and circumstances out of Intervals Music Studio's control will be announced via email. Additionally, an announcement will be posted on our “Intervals Music Studio” Facebook page. Snow days are not rescheduled or reimbursed by the studio.
Permitting we are able to access the studio for teaching tools and if we have internet and power, Intervals may suggest an online class, but cannot guarantee the same.
CANCELLED BY TEACHER/EDUCATOR
Many of our teachers are also performers or adjudicators, meaning that sometimes classes or lessons must be rescheduled. In the event that an educator must cancel class--for any reason (performance, illness, etc), students will always be given the opportunity for a substitute teacher or make-up lesson at a later date. We will aim to provide notice of teacher cancellations as early as possible.
CANCELLED BY FAMILY/STUDENT
Private Lessons
Please contact your teacher if your child is unable to attend his/her lesson. PLEASE NOTE: Lessons cancelled by the student will NOT be rescheduled, including no shows. If a student needs to arrange for a online lesson (due to illness, travel, etc), this would need to be worked out by at least 10:00 am the day of the lesson so the teacher has adequate preparation time to facilitate the online format.
Kindermusik: We welcome our Kindermusik families to make up missed classes! In the event that you need to miss class, here are the steps.
Record your absence via the parent portal on or before the date of your absence. Your teacher will then receive an alert that you will be absent. Please note that you cannot enter your absence if the date of your class has passed. If you forgot to enter an absence, contact your teachers and they can enter it for you upon your request.
Book your make up via the parent portal.
Please keep in mind that make ups are a"bonus" courtesy we extend. While we do our best to accommodate, we cannot guarantee that you will be able to make up all classes or that we will have slots that match exactly what you need. Should you need to withdraw from classes, all make-up opportunities are forfeited.
Group Classes (Play a Story, Triple Threat and Beginner Voice Class):
Absences in these regular weekly group lessons are not made up except in the case of teacher absence.
Kindermusik: Due to limited space, our studio must enforce one adult caregiver per child in all Kindermusik classes. Siblings are welcome to attend sharing time (the last 10 - 15 minutes of class time) in Levels 3 - 5 if child care cannot be arranged, but we do ask that parents keep in mind that the class can be busy during sharing time. Staying engaged with your child is the key to optimal learning and the best class experience possible!
Private lessons and all other classes: Only enrolled students are permitted in classes and lessons.
